Ana Martinez and John Allen brought me on board about 4 weeks before their wedding. They secured my “Day of ” Coordinating Package were I make sure to tie up any loose ends and to handle the execution of their special day with all the vendors they hired. I also created a detailed time line and handled many conversations with all her vendors.

a special moment
Ana got ready at The Holy Rosary Church in downtown Houston. Her wedding began at 7pm and the reception followed at Brady’s landing. The only major hiccup was saved by my assistant Paul Sparks! The bride forgot her petitcoat and was devastated to say the least. I sent Paul to David’s Bridal at 6:30pm and he flew back with a package out the window at 6:58pm. I caught it like a football and immediately got it in the dressing room were two bridsmaids, her sisters, and her mom helped her into the new purchase. We got her down the isle at 7:05pm! What a miracle!
The Reception was beautiful and very inviting to the 150 guests that attended. The florals were provided by Floral Events. Bill Ryan is truly remarkable to work with and created 3 beautiful and distinct centerpieces for the 18 tables present. The linens came from Linen Elegance. Black Satin and satin ties created a very sophisticated look to this elegant affair.

An Elegant Setting
The DJ was provided by DJS Unlimited and the music selection flowed well for the various taste present. Everything from Country to Tejano and a little bit of pop was heard!

DJs Unlimited
The Bride and Groom were very happy and toasted to a fabulous night of celebration!

One of the most important choices for a bride is in picking her wedding dress. There are many top notch designers as well as wedding boutiques that offer a wide variety of styles, from A-line to Mermaid, traditional to modern. The typical dress will set a bride back about $2500.00 and up.
With these economic times, it would be wise to consider an alternative option when selecting such a purchase. Keep in mind, after the dress is worn, there is also the dry cleaning or heirlooming cost that most brides to be do not take into consideration. This can become an unexpected expense of $200 and more after the wedding day!
Here in Houston we have a fabulous Boutique called Marry Go Round right off of Montrose Blvd and West Gray, that offers the shopping bride a great selection of wedding dresses for a cost effective price. You can find all the designers here and the size selections are plenty! They even have exquisite veils as well as jewely for the best prices! These dresses are from a past season and have never been worn down the isle or have been lightly worn and dry cleaned. Already have your gown? Bring it by and place it on consignment. This is a very Green way to handle your dress after the big Day!

The day started early for the bride to be and the bridesmaids with hair and make up at 10am. They were picked up by a 16 passenger stretch limo by Royal carriages Limousine, inc. and brought to the ceremony site off of 290 and Mangum Rd. The ceremony took place at St Ambrose, a beautiful catholic church here in Houston on Saturday at 7pm. The reception followed at The fabulous Heights Theater Events Venue located at 339 West 19th Street.

The reception was a cocktail style reception with passed appetizers and stations catered by Melange Catering. The stations consisted of a grilled cheese station with Tomato Basil and creamy mushroom soups served in demitasse. There was also a prime rib station accompanied by mini rolls and horseradish mayo and spicy mustard and a risotto station with black rice and wild mushrooms.
The staff once again provided exceptional service to the guests, many from out of town. The room consistantly stayed picture perfect throughout the night! Guests glasses always stayed full by great service by the upbeat dressed staff. Friendly interaction is the new trend of service being requested, replacing the stiff service of the 80′s.

The fairwell exit ended with a great getaway thru sparklers for our happy couple! The family members and friends who stayed to the end all left on a high note. This was a magical evening for Sara and Jake. I wish them all the best in their lives together as husband and wife.
The linens were Gold Fusia Pintuck and Cashmere Satin from Party Cloths. Sexy amber lighting was brought in by Bright Star Entertainment, creating a swanky ambience. A local band called Karizma wowed the guests with their instrumental and vocal abilities. They were in full swing from start to finish.

Caroline and Rick chose a beautiful outdoor setting for their ceremony. The gazebo in the The Heights here in Houston was a perfect back drop for the intimate gathering. White orbs hung from the rafters inside the dome, making for a funky back drop!

Great Autmn weather in Houston allows for fabulous outdoor ceremonies of various sizes. When choosing a site for a reception, be sure to see if there is a ceremony location option as well. This will eliminates the travel necessary for your guests when going from one location to another.
Brides and grooms with different faiths often choose something less traditional and relaxed. The need for special couples classes are eliminated and the fees for outdor events are usually pretty cost effective.
Call on me when looking for a special ceremony location and expert planning!

Finding a unique space in Houston Texas is not hard when you look at the Heights area. I found The Heights Theater Events Venue located at 339 W. 19th Street for this special wedding event this past weekend.
Nina and Yano were a fabulous couple with some unique requests. The Bride did not want any flowers and the groom wanted a family style dinner for 160 people. They also chose black and silver as their color scheme.
The Ceremony was at The Planetarium at the Museum of Natural Science, where they both volunteered as teenagers. It was destiny that brought them to marry in this unique theater.
Ghost Chairs and Birch Trees dripping with Crystals created a Sexy Backdrop for the Couple and their guests.

Another Successful Heights Reception in Houston! Floral Events once again did a beautiful job on the brides personal florals. Caroline made the whimsical centerpieces, candies at each table as well as her gorgeous gown!
Rich aubergine and apple green linens adorned the traditional round tables. Party Cloths is my favorite linen vendor! Each guest also received a small box of hand made candies! A lovely personal touch from this creative Bride!
Snazzy footwork on the dance floor was evident in the couples first dance of the evening! They were smooth in their transitions.
Salads were preset for this catered affair. The event was a buffet style provided by Massoud Catering. The crowd was very pleased with the hearty buffet presention as well.
After the wedding reception the fruit used in the centerpieces will be used in a composte that this green friendly couple will use in their garden.
